Hello,

first of all - well, the fact is I cannot read nor write Russian unfortunately (I reside in Germany). And to be honest - my Cyrilic reading abilities are far below basic status (but I am learning).
So I am in a permanent struggle with google translation service at the moment, when it comes to reading websites in Russian. So please excuse my stupid questions and messages in English only. These are NOT meant to be rude nor to be impolite...

I am building effects as a hobby since 2012. I've changed from YATS and YAFF to more complex and modded builds early. I create and use veroboard/perfboard layouts most often. I came in touch with parts made in Warsaw-pact-countries of the soviet era quite early, but that was limited to transistors and tubes. Unfortunately my knowledge of effects made in these countries at that time remained very limited. Well, I want to fix that and that is why I am here...

So I have to ask for Your help and for some info as I cannot make full use of the WWW alone due to language barrier. Here are my questions:

1st question: Are there other forums for DIY pedal builders in Russian available? Which forums / websites are worth having a look for people interested in cloning and modding rare sound effects devices of the soviet era?

2nd question: Are there good sources online, where I can get schematics/service manuals and layouts of effects of the soviet era. So far I found one topic on Sovietguitars forum and some here.

3rd question: are there some folks among You, who use veroboard/perfboard, too? Where are they online? I have crawled some websites in Russian, but never seen a single vero- nor perfboard.

4th question: what are the best webpages to look for parts made in the soviet era - chips, tubes, transistors, coils and such? Any source, where pedal shells used for Riga wahs, Poltava and such devices can be bought today?

5th question: where is a good source to crawl for datasheets of these parts? Are there any substitution / replacement lists for these available? Any list available where these are listed against their western counterparts?

So far I found these:
http://transistor-spravochnik.ru/
https://ganswijk.hom...oviet/chips.htm

Many datasheets I found lack so much data - when it comes to chips most often. I couldn't find a datasheet of K118UD1B for example.

6th question - about these DIN5 connectors effects of that era: is there any standard/regulations on how to wire these? Where can I find more info about these standards?

All the best!

Michael

6. Используйте только те контакты, которые необходимы для конкретной педали/усилителя.

Hello,

Hello Michael. From BW.

1 & 2 Dunno. Why? Soviet stuff mostly unplayable. I've got some souvenirs. Just for fun.
Even Scorpions couldn't do much. :)

3 Dunno. Perfboard sux. %)

4 Ebay has lot of old soviet stuff. Even on Kleinanzeigen. Just google part in Latin or Cyrillic. I've found some EU shops like https://retrostore.eu

5 Try http://cheesyguitars.com/ http://istok2.com/
